What to do when Christmas drives a wedge?

Well, I have been married to my man for almost 18 years now, and he had never been interested in Christmas or any other shopping for anyone outside of our household. I love the guy, so shopping is my thing. I simply make a list early on in a year, and start my Christmas shopping early ( sometime in September ). How I get my ideas: I pay attention to what people on my list say about themselves. People like to share little things like favorite activities, nice piece of clothing they would hope to get or a gadget they have been looking for for a while now etc. By the time I am ready to start my Christmas shopping, I know exactly what people on my list would enjoy the most. My mom loves quality clothing she can't afford. So I get that for her. My mother-in-law prefers quality cookware instead, so she will be getting that. I hope that was helpful in some way.
