The most religious and observant Christians and Jewish will take the literal meaning of the text, but (as you know) in different ways. Judaism also follows this with the Talmud's oral teachings (also given to Moses at Mt. Sinai) as a detailed explanation to practicing Torah law. There can be no agreement between the two, though. Jesus Christ made Torah law obsolete in the eyes of Christians. They no longer have to observe the 613 mitzvot, and that is the basis of Judaism.
