Electrical problem PLEASE HELP!!?

ok I have a 97 dodge neon and I was trying to install red lights in my air ducts to make it all glow so from the light I wrapped all the negatives together and seperatly wrapped all the possitive wires together. I hooked the negatives to the negative battery terminal. Then hooked the positives to a switch in the car that turns on the instrument cluster and other lights. My red lights worked fine untill my dumb took both wrapped up negative wires and positive wires from the red lights and put them togethe. All of the sudden BOOM SPARK POW. Every light shuts off. I checkd the fuses they looked fine I also checked the bulbs they all still work so I'm wondering is it the switch that is bad now? Just tell me what I did and how to fix it fast!
