Is ares.com bad for your computer?

I've been using Ares as long as it is the one from Source Forge for a few years and it is one of the best. I have never had a problem. It's what you could be downloading that could harm your computer not just the program. Make sure you scan the file with your virus program before you open a file. I love Ares. Only one I can really use since I am behind a firewall.
